AUSTRALIA, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- iFLYTEK has released a major system update for the iFLYTEK AINOTE Air 2, introducing the new NoteOS experience and enhancing how users capture, organise, read and manage information on the AI-powered E Ink tablet.

More than a routine software update, NoteOS introduces a redesigned interface across Home, Notes, AI, Reading, Calendar, App Center, Settings and Control Center, alongside improvements to AI note-taking, handwriting recognition, meeting transcription, real-time translation, OCR document scanning, reading and productivity tools.

The update brings handwriting, voice, transcription, translation and artificial intelligence into a more connected workflow, further developing AINOTE Air 2 as an intelligent digital notebook for work, study and everyday productivity.

In Australia, iFLYTEK consumer products are represented and sold by AI Online Pty Ltd, an authorised Australian partner of iFLYTEK. AI Online operates the Australian online store, iflytekau.com, supporting local sales, marketing and customer service for iFLYTEK consumer products.

A New NoteOS Experience

The NoteOS update introduces a redesigned interface with reorganised navigation and new layouts across AINOTE Air 2.

Updated fonts, icons, cards, buttons and information hierarchy have been optimised for the E Ink display, while improved text wrapping and layouts create a more consistent experience across 14 system languages.

The updated system supports Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Thai, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Malay and Dutch, with significant improvements to French, Malay, Arabic and Dutch.

As NoteOS changes several major feature entry points and navigation paths, existing AINOTE Air 2 users may notice familiar buttons, menus and settings in new locations following the update.

Fusion Notes Brings Handwriting, Audio and AI Together

At the centre of the new experience is Fusion Notes, a redesigned workspace that brings handwriting, audio recordings, transcription, translation and AI-generated content together within a single note.

Users can continue to create Record Notes, Writing Notes and Text Notes while benefiting from improved handwriting tools and navigation.

The update also introduces cut, copy and paste for handwriting across pages and Fusion Notes, alongside improvements to smart-pen selection, eraser detection, zooming, page turning, scrolling and toolbar positioning.

Together, these improvements strengthen AINOTE Air 2 as a digital notebook and writing tablet, allowing users to capture information naturally and use AI and digital tools to organise it afterwards.

Smarter Meeting Transcription and Translation

AINOTE Air 2 has also received significant improvements to its recording, transcription and translation experience.

Users can record meetings and conversations through redesigned recording, playback and transcript interfaces. Translated content can be viewed alongside the original text or independently, providing greater flexibility for multilingual communication.

The update adds French, Malay, Thai and Dutch voice input, further expanding the device’s multilingual capabilities for international meetings, business communication, study and everyday conversations.

Online transcription and translation require a network connection.

AI Meeting Minutes and Note Q&A

The NoteOS update expands the role of AI within the AINOTE Air 2 meeting workflow.

Users can generate AI meeting minutes from recordings and transcripts, with dedicated views for original content, minutes and Q&A.

The new Note Q&A function allows users to ask questions based on the current note and its transcript using keyboard or voice input. The updated AI Assistant also provides improved support for open-ended questions, note search, summaries, calendar creation and app launching.

Together, these capabilities allow AINOTE Air 2 to function as an AI meeting assistant, helping users move from simply recording conversations to understanding and organising the information captured.

AI features require an internet connection and account sign-in and may depend on applicable service availability or entitlements.

Enhanced OCR and Document Scanning

The AINOTE Air 2’s 5 MP camera and document scanning capabilities remain available, with NoteOS introducing improvements to the OCR experience.

Users can capture physical documents or import existing images, recognise text through OCR, convert scanned content into notes or PDF files, and share or export the results.

For professionals, students and researchers, the combination of document scanning, OCR, handwriting-to-text and AI note-taking provides a practical way to capture and organise information from both digital and physical sources.

A More Intelligent Reading Experience

NoteOS also introduces improvements for users who rely on AINOTE Air 2 as an E Ink reader.

The update adds landscape two-page reading, alongside improvements to page turning, PDF annotations, links between reading notes and source text, and text recognition in image-based PDFs.

When reading supported content, users can select text to translate, define, search the web, search the full document or ask AI about selected information.

Performance when opening, navigating and displaying large documents has also been improved.

Improved Sharing and Export

The new NoteOS experience redesigns note sharing and export functions, making it easier to organise and share information captured on the device.

Users can select and organise original text, AI-generated meeting minutes, AI results and OCR-cleaned content before exporting. Notes can be exported as PDF or TXT files, with improved pagination and clearer generation-status feedback for longer documents.

An AI Tablet for Work, Study and Everyday Productivity

AINOTE Air 2 combines the functionality of an AI tablet, digital notebook, E Ink reader and writing tablet in one portable device.

With NoteOS, users can move through a connected information workflow—from handwriting and voice recording to transcription, real-time translation, OCR document scanning, AI meeting minutes, AI search and intelligent note management.

Rather than adding isolated features, NoteOS is designed to connect these tools so users can capture information, process it with AI and turn it into useful knowledge within the same environment.

Designed Around User Choice and Privacy

The update also introduces improvements to account management and automatic synchronisation.

Depending on user settings and enabled services, automatic synchronisation may include notes, recordings, transcripts and related meeting minutes. Users can disable automatic synchronisation while continuing to use local notes.

Online transcription, AI meeting minutes and Note Q&A may require relevant content to be uploaded for cloud processing. Users are encouraged to review the applicable privacy policy and service settings before enabling online AI features.

Important Information for Existing Users

The NoteOS update represents a significant change to the AINOTE Air 2 user experience. Existing users are encouraged to review the full release notes before updating, as the Home screen, feature entry points, page layouts and operating methods have been redesigned.

Some capabilities remain dependent on online services. Offline transcription, offline meeting minutes, offline real-time highlights and offline AI summaries are not supported in this release. Real-time highlights during recording, additional meeting-minute templates and custom meeting-minute templates are also not included in the current update.

Users who are not yet ready to change their existing interface and workflow can choose to update at a later time.

Bringing AI into Everyday Productivity

The NoteOS update marks a significant step in iFLYTEK’s continued development of AINOTE Air 2 as an intelligent productivity device.

By bringing AI-powered note-taking, transcription, translation, OCR, meeting assistance and information management into a more connected experience, NoteOS is designed to help users spend less time managing information and more time using it.
